Imagine you are designing a little urban oasis for wildlife. Maybe you want to provide a small spot to rest for migrating birds that are just passing through. Think of a bird flying around looking for a lush area to have a rest, drink some water, refuel, find shelter from the weather and maybe take a bath. Maybe you are interested in supporting the pollinators like bees, butterflies, and other insects already living in your yard. You can do this by providing enough food/flowers, water and space for them to thrive. Remember that plants and the insects that eat them are the main source of food for our wildlife in our yards. Add your own flare to your design. Your urban oasis could include a one-of-a-kind birdhouse complete with bird hot tub for tired wings, a colorful dish to collect rainwater, perhaps a brightly painted sign or piece of garden art to attract attention.
Use your imagination.
