2/11/12 You Light Up My Life Valentine’s Work Shop at EcoAddendum from 10am-12:00p
Looking for a unique and creative gift to give this Valentine’s Day?  Come spend a Saturday morning having a great time making a nature/love inspired nightlight for your husband, wife, partner, boyfriend, girlfriend, bestfriend, parent, child, dog, cat…….
Local artist, Sarah Collman, will demonstrate different collage techniques and participants will have a chance to make several “collage plates”  that will lighten up any mood.

2/25/12 Pruning with Daniel Ballard at EcoAddendum from 10am-12:00p

Are you intimidated by pruning?  Does pruning your shrubs feel like cutting your own hair?!  There is hope for your pruning greenthumb.  Join Daniel Ballard, head gardener at Oakhurst Gardens, for an informative class on the basics of pruning.  Topics will include tools of the trade, basic pruning cuts, pruning trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals (including edibles).  Participants should bring a pair of bypass hand pruners and gloves for practice.
$30, $25 for members

3/10/12 Gardening 101 with Erin Walker at EcoAddendum from 10am-11:30a
Always wanted to have a flower or vegetable garden, but didn’t know where to start?  Want to grow and harvest fresh flowers and delicious produce in your home garden year round?
Learn the basics and best practices for setting up a lower-maintenance, high-yield garden without using lots of chemicals. Explore soil preparation, companion planting, crop rotations, using pollinators and natural predators to control pest and disease issues and increase harvest, as well as the critical sow dates for spring, summer, and fall and winter crops. Find out which vegetables and herbs will perform best in Georgia’s climate.

3/31/12 Bee House Building with Pandra Williams at EcoAddendum from 10am-12:00p

Colony Collapse Disorder is still decimating honeybees, but in the Southeast we have a few dozen native bees that can take care of your garden’s needs.  Learn how to identify several species of these effective native bees and welcome them to your garden!  Class has a slideshow showcasing various species and habitat needs, and participants will build a small, simple cedar bee house for mason bees.  $30, $25 for members plus $10.00 material fee

4/28/12 Gardening for Wildlife with Andrea Greco at EcoAddendum from 10am-12:00p

Want to have a healthy backyard ecosystem that provides habitat and food for birds and beneficial insects such as bees and butterflies? Join Landscape Architect Andrea Greco as she leads a hands on class in wildlife garden design. This class will cover basic concepts of garden design while you learn how to utilize native plants that play a critical role in the life cycles of our indigenous wildlife.  $30, $25 for members
