**Friends of Candler Park Hootenanny and Native Plant Sale**
Saturday May 21st  4pm-8pm
Come and see what the heck a Hootenanny really is and stay for the Screen on the Green showing of Captain Planet at 8pm.  Kid friendly and BYOB but remember no glass please. 20% of every plant sold goes to the Friends of Candler Park Nature Trail Fund.

Candler Park is a 55-acre city park located at 585 Candler Park Drive NE, in Atlanta, Georiga. It is named after Coca-Cola magnate Asa Griggs Candler, who donated this land to the city in 1922. The park features a nine-hole golf course, a swimming pool, a football/soccer field, a basketball court, tennis courts, is home to the Sweetwater 420 Fest and now also has a nature trail.

Phase 1 of the Candler Park Nature Path is complete! It took 4 workdays and 116 vounteer who gave 436 hours of service to clear debris and underbrush, prep the path, lay the 240 landscape timbers, mulch the path, till and compost the garden, and plant 176 native plants.  If you have not seen it yet, an afternoon walk is in order!  Funding for the creation of the trail came from the good people at Sweet Water Brewing Company and Happy Ending Productions who donated a portion of their 2010 SweetWater 420 Fest proceeds. A big round of applause also goes out to Park Pride and Friends of Candler Park who orchestrated the seamless workdays and the hard working volunteers from Kosher crew from Paideai, Clifton Men, Westminster High School, GSU Beta Alpha Psi, Candler Park Neighborhood Orgnization, Epworth Methodist and Sweetwater Brewing Company.

Phase 2 includes invasive removal and the planting of another large section of native plants toward the back of the path, which is being called the Grotto.

There is an easy, sustainable, labor free way you can help with phase 2. Purchase a native plant for your garden and  EcoAddendum will give 20% of the sale to the Candler Park Nature Trail Fund.

If you are unable to attend the Hootenanny but would like to purchase a native plant for your garden and have the 20% go to the Candler Park Nature Trail Fund please email LSandoval@EcoAddendum.org.
